Effie Triantafilopoulos was first elected as the MPP for Oakville North-Burlington in June 2018 and re-elected in June 2022 and February 2025.
Following the 2025 election, Premier Doug Ford appointed Effie as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. She also serves as the Deputy Speaker of the Ontario Legislature and as a member of the Standing Committee of Finance and Economic Affairs.
Previously, Effie served as Parliamentary Assistant for the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade and for the Ministers of Health and Long-Term Care. She has also served as a member of the Standing Committees on Justice, Public Accounts and Social Policy and on the Select Committee on Emergency Management and the Treasury Board Agency Task Force.
Effie is a supporter of the arts and has served on the Board of Trustees for the National Arts Centre and on the Board of the Toronto Dance Theatre. She is a lawyer and holds a Bachelor of Law and a Master of Laws in International Trade and Competition Law.
