Georgios Rekas joined Sioufas and Associates Law Firm in 2023. He has been a member of the Athens Bar Association since 1993 with extensive experience in Banking and Financial Law, advising financial institutions on complex regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Supervisor of the Legal Department at a Leasing Company, also acting as Secretary to the Board of Directors and Deputy Compliance Officer. In this role, he supervised legal operations, advised senior management, and ensured compliance with regulatory and corporate governance requirements. He has significant experience representing banking and insurance institutions before Greek courts and has been involved in drafting and negotiating complex banking and commercial agreements. His expertise also includes corporate law, insolvency and restructuring, regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering (Law 4557/2018), and data protection. At the firm, he serves as Managing Associate overseeing quality control procedures and handling complex banking, real estate, and asset management matters.
